Bolaike Completes Mineral Violet Industrial Pigment Freeze-Drying Test: Full Color Retention, Moisture Content Only 0.64%


Recently, Jiangsu Bolaike Refrigeration Technology Development Co., Ltd. completed a freeze-drying process test for mineral violet industrial pigment commissioned by a client. The test results showed that after processing with Bolaike's industrial freeze dryer, the pigment color was almost identical to before entering the chamber, with full and uniform color and no fading. The moisture content was as low as 0.64%, far below the 5% standard for freeze-dried products, fully verifying the application potential of freeze-drying technology in preserving colorants and similar materials.

 

Industrial pigments have extremely high requirements for color stability. Traditional drying methods, due to higher temperatures, can easily cause pigment oxidation and discoloration, affecting subsequent use. The client sent mineral violet industrial pigment samples, hoping to test whether freeze-drying technology could remove moisture while fully preserving the pigment's original color. Bolaike's technical team immediately conducted the test.

 

During the test, technicians first laid plastic wrap on the material trays to prevent pigment adhesion and facilitate subsequent bagging. The mineral violet pigment was in block form with a relatively soft texture, easily crushed by hand. Technicians crushed it into small pieces, spread them evenly on trays, and loaded them into the freeze-drying chamber. Temperature parameters were then set on the control screen: the freezing stage was set at -30°C for 120 minutes to ensure complete freezing; the heating stage was controlled at 55°C, a temperature that ensures sufficient moisture sublimation without affecting pigment color stability. The program was set and the equipment started.

 

The entire freeze-drying process took 1,460 minutes, nearly a day and a half. Upon opening the chamber, the mineral violet color was almost unchanged from before loading, with full and uniform color and no fading. Moisture content measured by detector was only 0.64%, far below the 5% standard for freeze-dried products. Technicians took a small piece for rehydration testing; the pigment slowly separated upon contact with water, still maintaining the original mineral violet color.

 

This ideal result benefits from Bolaike's industrial freeze dryer's precise temperature control throughout the freeze-drying process. The equipment rapidly locks the pigment state during the freezing stage and slowly and evenly raises temperature during the heating stage, with shelf temperature deviation controlled within ±1°C, preventing localized overheating that could cause color changes. The entire freeze-drying process is stable and controllable, with high product consistency. The client expressed satisfaction with the test results.
