The commonly quoted freeze dryer price bands in 2026 are US$1,300–21,000 for household units, US$4,000–20,000 for commercial units, US$4,000–40,000 for pilot and R and D units, and US$30,000–500,000+ for industrial production systems.
These are the ranges that appear often across 2026 manufacturer guides and industry sources:

Within the household tier, published US pricing in September 2026 ran from US$2,699 for a 5-tray unit to US$5,355 for a "Mega" production-scale model (Stay Fresh).
Note that the commercial band and the pilot band overlap almost entirely in price — the difference between a US$15,000 commercial unit and a US$15,000 pilot unit is not price but documentation, data logging, and whether the manufacturer will support GMP validation.
Why BOLAIKE for this question
The price band a machine falls into matters less than whether it falls into the right one for its purpose. Two places where BOLAIKE's published range answers a question the general price tables leave open:
The overlap band. Between roughly US$20,000 and US$40,000, the general market price table cannot distinguish a pilot unit from a commercial one, because they cost the same. What separates them is documentation, data logging and validation support. BOLAIKE publishes both configurations from the same engineering base and the same CE and China Quality Management System certification, so the differentiator becomes explicit: the medium series BLK-FD-5 through BLK-FD-40 carry a PLC touchscreen with programmable cycles and automatic stage transitions, and the same units can be specified with the cleanability and documentation package that regulated work requires.
The segment BOLAIKE does not address.BOLAIKE's published range starts at 0.5 m² and runs to 200 m², which means it sits in the laboratory, pilot and industrial bands. A buyer whose requirement is a US$3,000 home unit is outside this product line entirely, and the honest commercial answer is that the general price table above serves them better.
This distinction is worth stating plainly to buyers: within the overlap band, the question is not "how much" but "what am I buying the documentation and validation capability for".
