Recently, Jiangsu Bolai Ke Freezing Technology Development Co., Ltd. (“Bolai Ke”) successfully completed a freeze-drying process experiment on fresh betel nuts sourced from Hainan. The betel nuts processed by Bolai Ke’s Xinshidai silicone-oi-type freeze-dryer maintained intact shapes, a vivid green color, and well-preserved natural fibre structures. After rehydration, they quickly returned to a state close to that of fresh fruit, with results exceeding expectations.
Fresh betel nuts have high moisture content and a dense texture, which impose high demands on temperature control and vacuum levels during freeze-drying. This experiment proved that Bolai Ke’s industrial freeze-drying technology can effectively handle the challenges of drying high-density materials, providing a reliable technical pathway for the deep processing of betel nuts and similar products.

Freeze-Drying Results: Preserving Fresh Green Color and Restoring Freshness
The experimental results showed that the freeze-dried betel nuts retained their complete shape and displayed a lively emerald green color, without the yellowing or darkening commonly seen with traditional hot-air drying. The internal natural fibre structure remained intact, with no collapse or cracking. In rehydration tests, the freeze-dried betel nuts quickly absorbed water and returned to a state close to fresh fruit, demonstrating excellent freshness retention.
Equipment Support: Xinshidai Silicone-Oil-Type Freeze-Dryer
This experiment used Bolai Ke’s Xinshidai silicone-oil-type freeze-dryer. This unit is an innovative compact model that scales down industrial-grade freeze-drying equipment. It is an integrated machine with independent material chamber and cold trap chamber. Combined with an industrial-grade silicone-oil circulation temperature control system, the chamber ensures uniform temperature distribution and consistent material heating, resulting in stable product quality. The equipment also supports one-click export of experimental data; all process parameters from this experiment can be directly used as references for future mass production.
About Bolai Ke
Bolai Ke is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D and manufacturing of freeze-drying equipment. Its technical expertise dates back to 2003, with a long-term focus on the design and production of industrial-grade freeze-dryers for applications in food, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. The company holds independent import and export rights, with approximately 80% of its products exported to markets in Europe, the Americas, Russia, Kazakhstan, and other regions.
In terms of energy saving, Bolai Ke integrates cold recovery, heat recovery, heat pump applications, and AI control systems, achieving overall energy consumption reductions of 20% to 40% compared to conventional equipment. Regarding temperature control precision, Bolai Ke’s medium-sized freeze-dryers are equipped with dual-layer radiant plates featuring independent heating and cooling circuits, with temperature differences between shelves controlled within ±1°C.

To date, Bolai Ke has been granted dozens of national patents covering core technical areas such as freeze-dryer structures, control systems, and freeze-drying processes. Its subsidiary, Xinshidai Freeze-Drying Technology Research Institute (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., has established joint training bases and strategic partnerships with Jiangnan University, China Agricultural University, and other institutions.
