No. 29 North Tongjiang Road, Xinbei District, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China
To enrich employees’ cultural and recreational lives, relieve work-related stress, and strengthen team cohesion, Jiangsu BOLAIKE recently organized a team-building rock climbing event for all employees at an outdoor climbing center under the theme “Connecting with Nature, Challenging Ourselves.” This event allowed BOLAIKE employees—who are typically busy on the front lines of R&D, production, sales, and service—to temporarily set aside their work, immerse themselves in the lush green mountains and clear waters, work up a sweat on the rock walls, and deepen their bonds through collaboration, all while preparing to face the challenges of the new year with renewed vigor.
Stepping Out of the Workshop to Embrace Nature
On the day of the event, the spring sunshine was bright and the air was fresh. BOLAIKE employees gathered early in the morning and set off by bus for a natural rock climbing site on the outskirts of the city. Along the way, they passed lush green mountains and babbling streams. Stepping away from the busy production lines and office areas, everyone felt the long-missed outdoors and enjoyed a particularly relaxed mood.
Upon arrival, a professional instructor first briefed everyone on basic rock climbing techniques, safety precautions, and how to use the equipment. From the correct way to wear a harness to the essentials of gripping holds, and from controlling body balance to protective positions in case of a fall, the instructor explained everything in meticulous detail. The employees listened attentively and asked questions enthusiastically. For many, this was their first time trying rock climbing, and they felt both nervous and excited.
Challenging Ourselves on the Climbing Wall
After the warm-up exercises, the team-building event officially moved on to the rock climbing segment. The climbing area featured routes of varying difficulty levels, ranging from gentle slopes suitable for beginners to challenging vertical walls that tested both physical strength and technical skill. Employees chose their own goals based on their individual abilities and bravely scaled the walls while prioritizing safety.
Rock climbing is not only a test of physical fitness but also a trial of willpower and mental resilience. Facing rock walls that seemed insurmountable, some reached the summit on their first attempt, while others slipped midway and had to try again and again. But regardless of the outcome, every employee demonstrated a spirit of perseverance throughout the climb. Below the wall, the cheers and encouragement from colleagues rang out continuously, and whenever someone successfully reached the top, the scene erupted in enthusiastic applause and cheers.
A colleague responsible for equipment assembly remarked after successfully reaching the summit that rock climbing shares similarities with his daily work—when facing seemingly difficult tasks, as long as you find the right footholds, maintain a steady rhythm, and keep moving upward, you will always reach your goal. This spirit of “climbing upward and never giving up” is precisely the driving force behind BoLaiKe’s continuous breakthroughs in freeze-drying equipment R&D and market expansion over the years.
Teamwork and Unity
In addition to individual challenges, the event featured team relay climbing and partner climbing events. In the team relay, departments formed teams to complete designated routes in sequence, with the team finishing in the shortest total time declared the winner. This not only tested individual climbing skills but also required strategic planning and mutual encouragement within the team. The partner climbing challenge required two employees to share a single safety rope, climbing in sync and belaying each other, placing higher demands on mutual trust and coordination.
Through these team activities, colleagues who typically work in different roles deepened their understanding of one another, and cross-departmental communication and collaboration became smoother. Sales and production staff supported each other on the climbing wall, while R&D and after-sales service colleagues shared experiences during breaks, creating a lively and harmonious atmosphere.
Relaxing the Mind and Body, Recharging Energy
The rock climbing activity lasted the entire morning. At lunchtime, everyone spread out picnic blankets on the lawn next to the venue to enjoy a light meal prepared by the company. With the sun shining gently and a light breeze blowing, employees sat in small groups, chatting about amusing incidents and their experiences during the climb, with laughter filling the air. One employee remarked that with the fast pace and high pressure of daily work, there are rarely opportunities to relax and connect with nature like this. This event allowed everyone to completely clear their minds, leaving them feeling much more at ease.
In the afternoon, the event moved into a free-play session. Some employees continued to challenge themselves on more difficult climbing routes, while others chose to hike in the mountains, take photos, or try activities like rappelling under the guidance of instructors. Everyone found their own way to unwind.
People-Centric, Moving Forward Together
After the event, a representative from BOLAIKE stated: “The physical and mental well-being of our employees is the foundation of the company’s sustainable development. We organized this rock climbing team-building event so that everyone could step outdoors and connect with nature amidst their busy work schedules, exercising their bodies while also relaxing their minds. We were deeply heartened to see everyone bravely scaling the rock face and supporting one another as a team. This positive and uplifting spirit is precisely the driving force behind BOLAIKE's continuous progress.”
This rock climbing team-building event not only allowed employees to relieve stress and challenge themselves in nature but also further strengthened the team’s cohesion and unity. Everyone expressed their commitment to approaching future work with renewed enthusiasm and a healthier state of mind and body, contributing their best to BOLAIKE's development.
Moving forward, Jiangsu BOLAIKE will continue to uphold its “people-oriented” management philosophy, regularly organizing diverse employee activities to foster a positive, healthy, and harmonious corporate culture. We aim to ensure that every employee can experience growth and joy within the BOLAIKE family, working hand in hand with the company to scale new heights.
