BOLAIKE in collaboration with China Agricultural University, has unveiled a new generation of compact freeze-dryers at the 64th China International High-Tech Fair to help accelerate research at universities.
Recently, at the 64th China Higher Education Expo held in Nanchang, a new generation of compact laboratory freeze dryers—jointly developed by BOLAIKE and China Agricultural University—made its official debut, attracting significant attention from representatives of numerous universities and research institutions. Developed through the R&D platform of the BOLAIKE Freeze-Drying Technology Research Institute, this equipment innovatively upgrades the structure of traditional freeze-dryers to address the practical needs of university laboratories in terms of research efficiency, data accuracy, and ease of operation, making it a major highlight of the instrument and equipment exhibition area at this year's expo.
Integrated Design Breaks Through the Limitations of Traditional Structures
According to the BOLAIKE R&D team, traditional laboratory freeze-drying equipment typically employs a bell-jar structure, which suffers from issues such as low drying efficiency, slow pre-freezing speeds, and insufficient temperature control accuracy. As a result, experimental cycles are prolonged, making it difficult to meet the demands of university research for rapid results. The newly unveiled next-generation compact freeze dryer features an integrated design that compactly reconfigures the three core modules—refrigeration, vacuum, and heating—significantly enhancing the equipment’s overall operational efficiency and stability.
Compared to the bell-jar freeze dryers commonly used in laboratories, BOLAIKE’s new-generation equipment nearly doubles drying efficiency. Using the same material as an example, traditional equipment requires a longer drying time, whereas the new equipment, thanks to optimized airflow organization and a highly efficient water-trapping system, can complete the freeze-drying process in a shorter time, helping researchers accelerate their experimental progress and improve the efficiency of research output.
Silicone Oil Temperature Control Technology: Faster Pre-freezing and More Precise Temperature Control
To address laboratory users’ stringent requirements for pre-freezing speed and temperature precision, BOLAIKE has equipped the new equipment with a silicone oil circulation temperature control system. The silicone oil-based equipment offers faster pre-freezing speeds, significantly reducing the time required to cool from room temperature to low temperatures, thereby further shortening the experimental cycle. At the same time, the equipment enables precise control of shelf temperatures, with a range spanning from -35°C to 80°C, supporting cryogenic freeze-drying at sub-zero temperatures to meet the freeze-drying needs of various samples, including biopharmaceuticals, food ingredients, and pharmaceutical intermediates.
Precise shelf temperature control not only ensures the stability of the freeze-drying process but also safeguards sample activity and structural integrity, providing a reliable foundation for subsequent analytical testing. A visiting representative from an agricultural university remarked, “Our laboratory frequently handles heat-sensitive samples, which demand very strict temperature control. The temperature range and precision of this BOLAIKE unit fully meet our experimental requirements.”
One-Click Data Export for More Convenient Experimental Record-Keeping
In scientific research, the complete recording and traceability of experimental data are critical. BOLAIKE’s new generation of compact freeze dryers is equipped with an intelligent control system that allows for one-click export of all freeze-drying data (including key parameters such as temperature, vacuum level, and time), facilitating data organization, archiving, paper writing, and process optimization for researchers. This feature significantly enhances the digitalization of laboratory management and reduces the manual recording workload for researchers.
Upgraded Core Components: Overall Performance Far Exceeds Traditional Equipment
In terms of core hardware configuration, BOLAIKE’s new generation of compact freeze dryers is equipped with imported medium- and low-temperature compressors and vacuum pumps from leading domestic manufacturers, ensuring stable and reliable operation during prolonged use. Compared to traditional equipment, the overall performance and durability have seen a quantum leap, making it capable of meeting the high-frequency, multi-sample usage scenarios typical of university laboratories.
The High-Tech Expo drew an enthusiastic response, with exclusive benefits for educational institutions launched simultaneously
At the BOLAIKE booth during the Nanchang High-Tech Expo, a steady stream of university representatives came to inquire about the products. Many faculty members experienced the equipment’s user interface and freeze-drying process firsthand, praising its integrated, compact design and data export capabilities. A professor from the School of Food Science at a university in central China remarked, “We are currently planning to purchase new laboratory freeze-drying equipment, and this BOLAIKE product is highly competitive in terms of efficiency, precision, and ease of operation.”
To support university research efforts, BOLAIKE has simultaneously launched an exclusive benefit program for institutions nationwide: universities and research institutions need only send material samples to have freeze-drying experiments conducted free of charge, allowing them to personally verify the equipment’s performance. A BOLAIKE representative stated, “We aim to lower the barrier for university users to try new technologies, enabling more researchers to utilize efficient and precise freeze-drying equipment. We welcome universities and research institutions with freeze-drying research needs to contact us at any time.”
BOLAIKE: Continuously Empowering Scientific Innovation in China
This joint R&D collaboration with China Agricultural University, along with the successful debut of the new generation of compact freeze dryers at the High-Tech Expo, fully demonstrates BOLAIKE’s technical expertise and innovation capabilities in the field of laboratory freeze-drying equipment. Moving forward, BOLAIKE will continue to deepen its expertise in freeze-drying technology, partnering with more universities and research institutions to provide more efficient, intelligent, and reliable freeze-drying solutions for scientific research in China and around the world, thereby accelerating research and facilitating the implementation of innovations.
